MIDSIZE SUMMER HOLIDAY CAPSULE WARDROBE
Are you panicking over what to wear for an up coming summer holiday? Do you usually over pack and find that you end up wearing only half the outfits? Well look no further, in this blog I am sharing my personal styling secrets to pack your suitcase for your summer holiday with confidence. I have created a summer holiday capsule wardrobe that will help guide you with great ideas on what to wear if you are midsize. It can be tricky dressing for us curvier girls but it doesn't have to be complicated. With a few clever styling tricks you can look effortlessly stylish on holiday.
Planning your outfits is Key
Planning a holiday capsule wardrobe is key. To learn how to create a capsule wardrobe you can read more on how to build one in my blog here. The beauty of a capsule summer wardrobe is that you can mix and match to create endless outfit options. It is important to first consider the amount of outfits you will need for each day of your holiday. This all depends on how many days you are on holiday and what you are doing. Are you sight seeing? are you simply lounging by the pool? based on this you can pack accordingly.
When planning my outfits I usually lay out all my holiday items on my bed this way I figure out what colour ways I want to wear and which items will go with my accessories. I will then also try on each outfit to make sure everything fits and works together perfectly.
Select a colour palette
By selecting a few key neutral colours it will make putting outfits together so much easier. Select up to 2-3 neutral colours and a few accent colours and 1-2 key prints that you love to wear. This way you know all that all the colours and prints will work together whatever outfit combination you create.
add key Accessories
Accessories are small to pack in a suitcase and they don't take up too much space so, they are they the best way to add pops of colour to your outfits. A leather printed belt or bright colour pop clutch, a statement necklace or gold sandals will elevate any look. Be sure to put accessories in a strong box so that they don't get damaged during transit.
clever packing Solutions
Instead of cramming everything into your suitcase I highly recommend packing cubes. These cubes will help you keep all your items in order and separated if you are sharing a suitcase with your partner or kids. This will avoid any frustration when unpacking to find items. I always fold or roll my items so that you can see all the colours which makes everything easily accessible. The packaging cubes come in a variety of colours. Here's a great collection of packing cubes you can buy. Click her to here.

Here's another travel storage option for your toiletries. If you are as particular as I am about an organised travel toiletry bag then you will love this. It can be hung anywhere in a hotel bathroom. Click here to buy.
Summer capsule wardrobe
The below capsule wardrobe has been created with the midsize women in mind. As a midsize personal stylist I totally understand the challenges us women face, especially when some of us are conscious about certain areas of body that we might prefer to conceal. Right now my tummy is an area that I like to hide so, fit and flare dresses or smock dresses are what I feel most comfortable in. If you are conscious about your arms and prefer to hide them then a floaty 3/4 puff sleeve in a linen or cotton fabric may help you to feel comfortable in the heat. If you want to cover your thighs then opt for a line floaty styles that beautifully skim over the hips.
I have created the entire capsule wardrobe with a mix of high street finds. I love a bit of holiday glamour so in this example I have gone for classic black, ecru, whites and bold colours oranges and pinks. I do hope this gives you good ideas on how to create your very own summer holiday capsule wardrobe that suits your unique style.
